Smitha is an eminent and versatile artist in both forms of these fine arts. ==Early life== Keeping up with the tradition of the Guru Shishya Sampradaya, wherein students visit their gurus face to face on a daily or a weekly basis to learn music, Smitha began learning Carnatic vocal music at the age of four and gave her first public performance in 1994. Her renditions in concerts reflects a melodious voice and a mastery of the four fundamental elements of classical music namely Sruthi, Swara, Raga and Thala that comes as a result of several years of training and practice. Smitha's concerts have spellbound diverse audiences from Rasikas to the lay man alike across cities and towns all over India and abroad.
